Working as part of a term commission for DEFRA, we were commissioned to look at the refurbishment and consolidation of one of their main London buildings adjacent to the Houses of Parliament. Designed to allow flexible working arrangements for crisis management following the BSE outbreak in Britain, the Grade II listed building was completely refurbished and extended with additional rooftop and dining accommodation provided. The building was nominated for a number of sustainability awards and had one of the highest BREEAM scores for any building on its completion.
